When I was little, I was obsessed with mermaids and fairies. I even had a mermaid imaginary best friend! I think that my childhood fantasy partially explains my obsession with mermaid style dresses.
I found this gorgeous Purple Lace Dress by Marchesa Notte under the new arrivals category at Rent the Runway, and I knew I had to wear it. This dress combines elegant lace with vibrant color. The structure is incredible and it hugs all of the right places.

The mermaid crown is homemade! I purchased all of the supplies from Michael’s to make it. Check out the video I used as my inspiration!
